"How old would you be if you didn't know your age?"
When I was asked this question, I awkwardly sat there scrambling to come up with an insightful, or at the least, a witty answer. If you can't be serious, at least be funny, right? Cue the crickets... However, as life would have it, I thought of my sincere response as I was on my way home later that day.
Remember that time you impressed yourself with how great your comeback to an argument was? ....and then the feeling that followed because it didn't come to you until well after the argument had ended? If so, now we're on the same page.
In case you were wondering: What was my final answer? 15.
15 is the embodiment of controlled freedom. You have a driver's permit but not a license, you are too old for middle school but really not old enough for high school, and you aren't a kid but you're not quite an adult either.
At the time I was asked this question I was 22 years old, right out of college, and working as a full time intern in an industry in which I was only half interested. It hadn't taken very long for the classic cliché, "love your job and you'll never work a day in your life" to start really making sense.
To make a long story short, this question made me think. It made me consider. It made me step out of the box. Although there's a time to be 15, I was way past that place in life. If I wanted to acheive my goals, I could not be half way in or simply almost there. Within a month I transitioned into a career I loved, which has opened the door to working with some of the greatest people, companies and opportunities my younger self could have ever hoped for.
My love for marketing, PR and real estate has become my personal trifecta passion. From implementing strategic campaigns , guiding people through designing their future homes, to helping clients achieve the image they strive for - the endless potential never ceases to inspire me.
....and for the record, when I'm not working, you can find me on Sullivans with my golden retriever, a glass of wine and my phone - -for instagramming it all, of course.
